A quiz is the most effective way to test the participants in their learned knowledge. In this article we will show you how to create one and explain the different types of questions.
How to create a quiz
Go to Course Elements > Quizzes and simply drag and drop the Quiz box into the desired section under Course Content.
First step
The first step is to give your quiz a title under the Profile tab. The short description is optional and will be shown to the participant before the quiz starts. It will be created automatically by elearnio and can be changed by you.
Different types of questions
Under the Content tab you can now create the questions for the quiz. To do this, you must first select the question type.
Multiple Choice
A Multiple Choice question allows users to select more than one answer. Allow only one correct answer to create a single choice question.
In the fields labeled Answer Options you enter different answers. Three option fields are given, but you can add more by clicking on Add options. You mark the correct answer with a dot at True and the wrong answer with a dot at False.
You also have the possibility to upload a picture for each question, which will be displayed in the background. Just click on Upload or use the drag & drop method.
Under Additional feedback you can optionally enter feedback for the participant in case of a wrong and/or correct answer including a picture.
True/False
This question type consists of a statement that is either true or false.
You also have the option to upload an image per question, which will be displayed in the background. Just click on Upload or use the drag & drop method.
Under Additional feedback you can optionally enter feedback for the participant in case of a wrong and/or correct answer including a picture.
Drag the words
With this question type, the participant is shown a text with draggable words.
First you write the task in the Text field. You mark the draggable words with two asterisks (*). You can optionally add additional distracting words that make the task more difficult.
This is what it looks like for the participant:
Find the hotspot(s)
Here you can easily query specific locations on images, such as the correct click on a software interface or the correct component of a product, which the user must find.
To do this, you enter an instruction and upload the background image on which the hotspots must be found. Just click on Upload or use the drag & drop method.
In the gray box on the right, define the correct/wrong hotspots and add feedback that will be displayed to the participant when they click on different areas in the image.
This is how it is displayed to the participant during the quiz:
Drag and Drop
With drag and drop questions, there are no limits to your creativity. "Which brands do we work with?" or other task types can be perfectly mapped interactively with this question type.
First write an instruction as a task for the participant and upload the image for it with a click on Upload Image or via Drag & Drop.
Now define the drop zones by clicking on the Drop Zone button and creating a rectangle. Select the correct area to place - in this case the coffee mug - and drag the rectangle to the right place.
Then give a name to the field on the right under Drop Zones and write the feedback for the correct as well as incorrect assignment there.
In addition, create the incorrect drop zones. When the participant drags the coffee cup to the wrong place, the feedback for the incorrect assignment appears.
Now you upload the element (text or image) - in this case a picture of the coffee cup - and select the correct drop zone under Elements. This is what the quiz will look like for the participant:
To add more questions to your quiz, click Add Question on the left.
Further settings
Under the Settings tab, you will find further setting options for the quiz. You can also customize the text that is displayed to the participant after the end of the quiz under Feedback.
When all the questions and settings are ready, you can preview the quiz at the top right of the page by clicking Preview and create it by clicking Save.
