Image hotspots are interactive images that contain hotspot icons on the image. When the participant clicks on a hotspot icon, a pop-up window appears with text, image, or video. Image hotspots are good for communicating detailed information about a graphic to the participant. In this article, you'll learn how to create them.
Add Image Hotspots
You can find the Image Hotspot under Course Elements. Drag and drop the box into the desired section under Course Content.
On the following page, upload the background image you want to use to create the hotspots. To do this, either click on Upload or drag and drop an image into the framed field. Now create a title and an optional summary in the Short description field.
3 different hotspot types
In the Content tab, you have three options for creating hotspots:
- Text
- Image
- Video
When editing, you can choose the color and size of the hotspot. The hotspot will appear as a plus sign on your background image. You can now drag it to the desired location. When the participant clicks on the plus sign, he sees the text, image or video that you have written:
With a click on Preview, you can first try out the hotspot yourself. With a click on Create, it will be saved.
